魔头松烨称其与白素贞有千年之约，书生许仙对白素贞一见钟情，白素贞在二者之间徘徊不定之时，为救许仙性命与之成亲。金山寺和尚法海秉持“人妖殊途”的原则，强烈反对白素贞与许仙成亲并想方设法拆散二人，却在白素贞遭受生命危险之际出手相救。
