A boy is haunted by terrifying nightmares where a monster lurks inside the closet. To his relief, his father appears in the middle of the night helping him to face his fears. But the boy will begin to question the true nature of these apparitions, having to face the truth about his father's destiny and the evil force that threatens to consume him.。该剧将真实地描写不安和恐惧的普通人陷入邪教的过程，通过看上去像真的却是假的长老和牧师的诡辩和行为，以及看上去是假的却能分辨真伪的村里的恶党的凄厉的孤军奋战，讲述告发这个时代的亦真亦假的故事。。本片延续《我们的故事》系列，第三部以1979年为开端，横跨十多年至1980年代末的流金岁月。讲述林家第二代和邻居们一同从甘榜搬入政府组屋后的故事，经历新加坡环境、政策和民生的大变迁。 在姐姐过世后，阿坤（李国煌饰）改过自新，成为一名德士司机，和年轻一代的侄子顺发因为代沟常常发生冲突。80年代新加坡正实施多项改革政策，阿坤常常对政府的诸多政策感到不满，像是华文学校被迫关闭、新加坡精英制度等，结果决定和政府“唱反调”，成立反对党。众人的故事会如何收场？。
